Our Blessings?
May we give thanks?
For our many blessings.Do we use our blessings?
Let us recount.
Liberty and freedom,
But we make war.
Freedom to choose,
But do we vote?
A wealth of goods,
Who shares with the poor?
A Sabbath to rest,
But stores are open.
Freedom to worship,
But who goes to church.
Freedom to pray,
But not in school.
Freedom to love,
But sex before marriage.
Freedom to marry,
But we divorce.
Freedom to procreate,
But we abort.
Freedom to teach our children,
But mother works.
The gift of longevity,
But where are our parents?
Dear Lord,
Change our hearts,
So we may give thanks.
